About MAT 2019

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level MBA entrance test, conducted quarterly by the All India Management Association (AIMA). MAT is conducted in the months of February, May, September and December, in offline (paper-pen) and online (computer) modes. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. The test scores are used for admission to various MBA, PGDM, and allied management programmes.

The conducting body of Management Aptitude Test (MAT) i.e AIMA (short for All India Management Association ) prescribes the eligibility criteria of MAT 2019. 1. What are the test dates and timings of the test?

The Paper-Based Exam is usually conducted on the first Sunday of the February, May, September and December from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The Computer-Based Test is conducted from Saturday onwards (usually 6 days after the paper-based exam) and in different time slots.

2. How many times is MAT conducted in a year? 

MAT is conducted 4 times in a year in the months of February, May, September and December.

3. What is the validity of MAT score?

The validity of MAT score for a particular session for most management institutes is one year.

4. Is taking MAT exam necessary for getting admission into PGDM/ MBA programme?

MAT is necessary for admission into PGDM/equivalent programmes offered by AIMA or other management institutes that participate in it.
