About MHT-CET 2019

The MHT-CET or Maharshtra Common Entrance Test is an annual entrance examination taken by candidates seeking admission in full-time degree courses of Engineering and Pharmacy offered by various government and private colleges in Maharashtra state. MHT-CET was earlier scrapped by Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra in 2014-15 to incorporate admissions through JEE Main scores, but then it was re-introduced in 2017 for undergraduate engineering admissions in the participating institutes.

In another line of thought, there are rumours that MHT CET 2019 may get cancelled due to the impending Lok Sabha elections in 2019, as the timing seems to clash. While no concrete information is out yet by the official conducting body MHTCET, we are yet to see what unfolds with regards to MHT CET. Also, with JEE being conducted twice from 2019 onwards, the MHTCET panel is of the view that students will be subject to unnecessary hassle with one more exam to give.
